Ultrasound guided cyst aspiration procedure is performed to identify cyst formation in breast through ultrasound by giving anesthesia. Ultrasound examination is conducted to recognize fluid-filled sacs (cysts), masses or any irregular changes in breast. If any suspicious development or changes is identified in ultrasound, procedure will be performed with injecting local anesthesia to numb the breast tissues. Needle or syringe will be inserted to the cyst and fluid will be withdrawn. Retrieval of the fluid will be sent to pathology to identify the cause for cyst.
