Sperm retrieval will be performed when he had failed vasectomy, failed ejaculation, poor quality sperms, and absence of vasa deferens or blockages in the seminal tract. PESA and TESA are techniques involved in retrieval.
Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA) procedure conducted under the help of general anesthesia. Sperms will be directly extracted from epididymis with the help of needle. Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) procedure includes directly extracting sperms from testicles through fine needle.
Obtained sperm will be frozen in the laboratory for several years or can be utilized for artificial insemination (IUI), ICSI or any other IVF treatments.
