Laparoscopic Sterilization

Laparoscopic sterilization is one of the safe and permanent contraception procedures when couple wants to prevent pregnancy. It is tubal ligation, performed in woman to obstruct fallopian tubes. As fallopian tubes extend towards ovaries, they receive eggs that are ready for fertilization and sealing or blocking would restrict travel of sperms to tubes for fertilization process. In laparoscopic sterilization procedure fallopian tubes are either sealed or cut and tied with special thread. It is performed with small incision near navel as it reduces recovery time. Patient can be discharged on the same day after 4 hours of surgery.
