TUBAL RECANALISATION (OPEN)

Tubal Canalization is a safe and simply invasive way of unblocking fallopian tubes in certain cases. Tubal Canalization is useful in treating blocked fallopian tubes. Blocked fallopian tubes are common in women of reproductive age and can result in difficulties getting pregnant. Tubal Canalization is a simple outpatient method that unblocks the fallopian tubes. A tube is inserted into the fallopian tube and a balloon is inflated to help remove the blockage. This can often be done following a procedure for diagnosing the blocked tubes. The effectiveness of this procedure among women with blocked fallopian tubes is still unclear.  Fallopian tubes are the main responsible for female fertility. These tubes help the eggs to travel from the ovaries to the uterus. A common cause of female infertility is a blockage of the fallopian tubes. Fallopian tube recanalization is a nonsurgical procedure our interventional radiologists use to treat these blockages. Most of the time, we can reopen at least one blocked fallopian tube and restore normal function.
